Bubble London June

My first visit to Bubble London on Monday where I entered the world of many many childrenswear designers from all over the world. Great to speak to some very lovely encouraging people. My favourite three without doubt were:

Hucklebones- a childrenswear brand set up by 2 very friendly Kingston graduates who clearly understand what they are doing and are making fantastically modern designed childrenswear with a vintage feel.http://www.hucklebones.co.uk/. Super fun photos too

Then there was a wonderful brand of Poppy found here at http://www.poppychildren.co.uk/. The dresses are filled with very sweet illustrations all about the world of Poppy and Fred and then with each dress comes with it's very own illustrated book too. I was so excited by the idea and think the creators have really created something quite magical here.

And finally a very new brand called Mila-Moo, created by a super friendly lady who uses a vintage style and only beautiful Liberty fabrics to create her unique dresses.Find out more right here:http://mila-moo-and-ronnie-too.blogspot.com/ I loved the attention to detail and the way each vintage button added to the overall look.

Just these 3 brands made my day and completely impressed me.

Potiche - please can i have these outfits?

This evening i went to see the the newly adapted French film Potiche, taken from the original play by Pierre Barillet and Jean-Pierre Grédy. A plot revolving around an umbrella factory where the workers strike and kidnap the male boss, who then has to recover leaving his wife in charge. Suitably light hearted and with the most amazing wardrobe filled with colour and beautifully cut details. I found myself getting far too excited by all the wallpapers, and wish I could start pasting my walls with such amazing prints tomorrow.

Busniess cards have arrived!

With all thanks to lovely Lydia for designing these business cards. I am now ready to attend Bubble London on Monday, a huge showcase of over 250 childrenswear brands. I may have also sewn a pair of dungarees for the occasion..

Cat top a go go

A little Friday morning make using a pattern that my good friend Nicky's auntie once made, proving that if you like the shape of something you can just trace it off and create your very own. I felt i needed a bit more of a crazy cat lady sort of look, mission accomplished

A hidden gem of an antique shop in the maltings in Sawbridgeworth. So quiet yet filled with rooms of treasures. If you are ever nearby it is most definitely worth checking out.

The crotchet swan!

My aunt and my family have an ongoing game where we hide these crotchet swans in each others houses, we hadn't seen them for weeks, then just as i was about to fall asleep this one looked right at me!
