Birthdays and Markets

Just a little mention to say thank you for a wonderful birthday, it began with a treasure hunt with my mum hiding all my lovely cards on clues hung from the ceiling. Ohhhh and after all that excitement over that bag raffle, i actually won one of them!
So off to london to see the current Street Photography Exhibition (Completely worth going to if you are near the barbican as it is really well thought out and filled with characters!)
Then to Portobello and well what's not to love about letter block stamps...Imagine if this was your very own collection..

T shirt printing :)

Back to Bath/Bristol to do the next stage of the collection ready for the photoshoot involved screen printing. First to mix colours and do a test print, then voila real life spirograph on t shirts. So exciting to be able to produce a real production line. Photos on their way very very soon!

Steam galas and Quilt Shows!

That's right, all in one day. A steam gala came to town complete with a traction engine that powered a huge carnival organ. Also a little trip on the famous ride on train into the woods where you get to see all the teddy bear picnics....but this time there was also MAYPOLE DANCING BEARS!!!

And then after this a Quilt show where there was a wonderful display of colourful quilts and bags and it just makes you want to gather all your fabric scraps and make a proper quilt. Or better yet make this wonderful quilted bird bag, Brenda o'Carroll has the most wonderful eye for colour. I might have to find out where this fabric is from!
Another treat was the huge amount of hand made things to buy ( i got a beautiful floral embroidered broach for £2.50) And a free cup of tea and homemade cake to rest before taking part in the BEST raffle i have ever seen. Between the quilting group they had made about 40 bags and then all you had to do was buy a strip on tickets for £1, write your details on the back and then on each bag was a little pocket so you would only enter for the bags you wanted. There would then be a mini draw for each one and voila, bag raffle! Fingers crossed i won :)

Bunting top

All this sunshine is tempting me to may summery things. So what better way to fill a Monday morning than to make a patchwork bunting top. Only trouble is now i want a bunting jacket....hello late night sewing.

May day!

A little trip to a local May day completely reinforced my love of Maypoles, why is it only children that get to do this? I really think it's time to bring it back properly and with more colourful ribbons....its definitely on my to do list. Also a may day filled with craft stalls, about 10 cake stalls and even a vintage stall dedicated to cake stands. I am still eating my homemade fudge :)
