Wedding fever!

Impossible to not get into the wonderful royal wedding. I spent the day dressed in full wedding attire complete with wedding hats watching with my family and eating lots of british themed cakes and berries. Oh and couple of eggs my friend Charlotte and I created, i think whoever serves them breakfast tomorrow should totally do this!

Bunnies, swans and car boot sale purchases :)

I hope the easter bunny visited everyone today, he actually came and hung out with me all weekend,in fact he even walked to the local pub with me and had a drink....
Besides this exciting news i thought i better show you all my car boot sale purchase of the week, a 1970s clipboard with a really fun way of clipping (currently showing scores from a very competitive game of "bunnies" which involves points and competition of course!) PLUS some meringue swans to surprise my auntie, almost too good to eat....well only almost yum:)

Hot cross buns!

My very first attempt at hot cross bun making with my good friend Alex, why do they take so much time rising??!! Even so.. putting on the cross which is only made from flour and water is so so exciting. Well nearly as exciting at glazing!!! It was like magical transformation of normal buns to proper real eastery hot cross buns :) 7 days to go until the easter bunny arrives!

This looks fun...

Now this is something i want to try, apparently a way to make your own mannequin of your body form. Just wrap yourself in lots of lovely duct tape, then cut up the back and then this becomes the shell which you then fill and voila instant body! Ha what a fun afternoon to be had...

Jumbling Sale

Yesterday was my first time at organizing a jumble sale for the WI of my village, and WOW jumbles are a lot of work. From 9am tables were set up and filled with mountains of clothes and other various treats. Obviously any real treasures had to of course be bought early by myself like a wonderful black silk vintage jumpsuit and crotchet rug of multicolours amongst other things :)
After a brief lunch we then had to run to the village hall because those exciteable jumblers were waiting outside 35 minutes before the start. Then at 2pm....BOOOM they were in!!! Selling was simple as a lot of things were only 20p so i only had to shout DEAL a few times to hype up the excitement.
I hope everyone managed to find a bargain, i shall now rest. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

P.S Thank you wonderful Tamsin and Claire for being guest WI members and upselling all thoe clothes, that lady is going to love that white lace mini dress, oh dear.

St Albans day trip

Today was the most incredibly sunny british day and it was the perfect weather to go on a day trip to St Albans where i was welcomed into my first charity shop by the lady singing and dancing to
"Rock Around The Clock" She made my day.
What also made my day was down George Street a couple of wonderful shops filled with homemade knitted treats, including all the equipment to give it a go yourself. Also a cafe entitled "The secret cafe" where you could hear them all calling about how they had nearly finished icing the carrot cake. Very good name, very good setting! I'll have the magnum classic milkshake please :)

And after all this was the best treat, a vintage emporium down the main road filled with individual rooms created by different people filled with vintage treasures. So much to look at and luckily for me i found a laura ashley full length sundress. Most definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere nearby

Lacock Craft Fairs

.
So the month of making had to end, and to celebrate me and holly went on a day trip to Lacock where as if by magic there was a craft fair just waiting to be explored. Look at the amazing jumpers all hand knitted and so beautifully soft. Also i am a little bit tempted to make some jam just so i can get some ridiculously good bear jars to put it in, just wow. I wish all shops were like these, all filled with surprises.

Just a little background story..

I most definitely should have put this sooner but here is a photo from the very first Pop up shop that both Holly and I ran and made things for last November. This is the photo that went into the Bath Chronicle and was a super proud moment. Bath council if you read this please can you give us the shop back?? It would make a very good studio right now, thanks!

Oh and it was budeiful

I forgot to write my little goodbye but now i'm back from a holiday of my own to Bude in North Cornwall and i just thought it would be appropriate to share a little of the wonderful things i got to see. Now remember this is March and wow it was like a true summer holiday filled with summer goodness and more importantly plenty of friendly competitive games such as Capture the flag, French Cricket and Volcanoes (hopefully i can add a picture of this inspired game later) Oh and also a visit to Tintagel Castle, note to self...do not climb the castle ruins, it is NOT sensible and you will most DEFINITELY fall off.

Oh also a wonderful surprise to find 2 great independent shops, so if you are ever in Bude check out firstly Shabby and Chic, a house filled with handcrafted pincushions, vintage napkins and a basket of fun tins amongst other things

And then i was reccomended to visit The Bark House, check it out here online at http://www.thebarkhouse.com/. An eclectic mix of vintage clothes, from polkadot trousers to toucan silk shirts and beautifully made 1940s velvet jackets. A complete treat to step off the beach and into this treasure cave.

Can i go back to holiday land please?
